NIL Finland is working towards improved safety and quality in lead Sea Kayaking activities, for both commercial actors and associations. Our work is not-for-profit -any fees are for covering costs. We are independent of – but collaborating with – organisations and businesses in the field of kayaking.

CERTIFICATIONS
Our Sea Kayak assistant instructor and instructors’ examinations function as a Certification System towards excellent skills within Safety, Technique and Training.

BASIC SAFETY
Our training in Basic Safety functions as a beginners’ Safety and Technique Skills norm and guides those who want to check up and be given a feed back on their skills. Those who pass the training receive a Basic Safety Card. According to the Consumer Safety Board    the card also serves as a proof of proficiency for those hiring out kayaks and paddling guides.

Hank Sea Kayak Gathering
NIL, the Nordic Instructors Association for Sea Kayaking also heads the Hankoo Sea Kayak Gathering (HSKG). HSKG is a yearly three day long meeting, with the objective of providing anybody interested in kayaking a get-together, to learn from each other and to train with skilled instructors.
